Biography
Jitin Gulati, the eldest of three children was born at the Holy Family Hospital in New Delhi on 8 April, 1980. His Father, Mr. Jagdish Gulati is a retired Indian Navy officer and his mother, Mrs. Jyoti Gulati is a retired teacher. He has two sisters, Pooja and Nikita, both of whom are a part of the financial sector working with foreign banks. Although he has a navy background, Jitin grew up in Faridabad and studied at the Apeejay School. Jitin was very active on stage and in extra-curricular activities all through school and college. He went on to do his Bachelors in Commerce from Hansraj College, Delhi University. Owing to his commerce background, Jitin landed a job in Corporate Banking with the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) in New Delhi. He worked with HSBC for over 8 years. Wanting to pursue his long standing ambition of being an actor, he started training in acting and dance while he was with the bank. Jitin trained with the likes of Mr. Barry John, Mr. Feizal Alkazi and Ms. Amal Allana (NSD) in New Delhi. He is also a trained Jazz dancer having trained with Ashley Lobo’s Dance Institute ‘Danceworx’. Jitin moved to Mumbai in 2008 with his job at HSBC. His first portfolio was done by the famous photographer Vishesh Verma who referred him to a few casting agencies. Jitin quit his banking job in 2009 and started modeling full time. He landed impressive campaigns across both the fashion and commercial sectors and has since appeared in over 100 advertising campaigns for major brands like Raymond, Lifestyle, Smirnoff, L’Oréal Matrix, Anita Dongre (AND) and many others. Not losing touch with his years in the financial sector, Jitin also started teaching Banking and Finance, alongside modeling, at one of the leading MBA institutes in Mumbai. Jitin’s big break in acting came when he was cast in Eros International and Anubhav Sinha’s “Warning 3D”, directed by Gurmmeet Singh and released in 2013. Since then, Jitin has appeared in Neeraj Pandey’s “MS Dhoni – The Untold Story” and “24 (India) Season 2”.
