Synopsis
The Checkmate is a Kannada suspense thriller film that revolves around the protagonist and his three friends go out to celebrate a ‘break-up’. In an effort to lighten the mood, they start sharing their respective shattered love stories. As they start these narrations, they encounter surreal and unexpected incidents which eventually traps them in a game of “Chess”. By the time they realize that the game is more than what it seems, it is, in fact, deciding their fates, they are left with no option but to move forward. Will all of them manage to escape the trap and salvage their lives? Will their friendship survive this race for self-preservation? Watch this thriller to find out!
